outskirts of Gambella town, according to witnesses and survivors.

The victims were a group of young people who had gone out for leisure outside the town when armed men opened fire on them without warning. A survivor, speaking from a medical facility, said:

“We were just walking when the gunmen appeared and started shooting. There was no argument, no warning, only gunfire.”

The survivor claimed the attackers were from the Anyuak community, though this information has not been independently confirmed, and authorities have not released any official statement.

The wounded were rushed to nearby health centres, with several in critical condition. Medical workers described the situation as serious due to severe injuries and limited resources.

The incident has heightened fear among the residents, who now say they feel unsafe in the region.

As of publication, no arrests or official investigations have been announced. Residents are calling for an urgent inquiry and increased security to protect civilians.
