One of Lare Resident has just spoke with Gambella Vision in Lare and uer
said life has become very difficult there. She hopes the Prime Minister’s campaign tour can visit Lare, a district about 85 kilometers from Gambella town, and explain to the people what would change if the Prosperity Party is reelected.
According to her, many people in Lare have stopped using public transportation because it has become far too expensive. Instead, they are forced to walk long distances on foot. For example, a bus fare from Lare to Tharpaam costs more than 500 Birr (over $3 USD) for a journey of less than 30 kilometers.
Many people in the area do not even earn $1 a day, making transportation costs completely unaffordable for much of the population.
