Jacob Nhial Yat, Commissioner of the Regional Sports Commission, has confirmed that preparations are complete for the 12th Annual Gambella Woreda Sports Competition, set to take place in Meti town, Godere Woreda, from April 4 to 19.

Over 1,400 sports delegations from all districts, including Gambella City, will participate in six sports categories: football, athletics, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and World Taekwondo.

Commissioner Jacob Nhial emphasized that this competition serves as a vital platform for nurturing talented athletes and promoting quality sportsmanship.

He also highlighted the event’s role in fostering a peaceful environment where young people can develop strong moral values. Nial urged all participants to engage in the competition with sportsmanship and commitment.
