Deadly Ambush on Government Vehicle Between Tharpam and Itang Woreda Leaves One Official Dead, Two Critically Injured:
A government vehicle carrying three public officials came under a deadly ambush on the road linking Tharpam and Itang, resulting in the death of one official and serious injuries to two others, according to information obtained from local sources.
The attack occurred earlier today while the officials were traveling from Tharpam toward Itang district town. Preliminary reports indicate that Anyuak armed men opened fire on the vehicle, causing significant casualties among the passengers. One government official was killed at the scene, while the remaining two sustained severe injuries and were rushed for medical treatment.
Sources familiar with the incident stated that the attack took place in a section of the road frequently used by government employees and local residents. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims pending official notification of their families.
