A Toyota vehicle belonging to Itag Special Woerada Deputy Administrator was attacked approximately two hour ago by armed Anyuak forces.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred on the road between Itang and Tharpam Kebele. Sources say the armed men opened fire on the vehicle after identifying that the driver and the police officers being transported were Nuer.

Several people are reported to have sustained serious injuries in the attack. However, no deaths have been confirmed at this time.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement, and further details are expected as the situation develops. This attack happened less two days after a Nuer was shot in Makhot on Tuesday nights. This an alarming trend which the Nuer must look at very seriously. Just this week the Anyuak have made attempts to kill Nuer as many as they would get. It was only the grace of God that the people in the Vehicle managed to survive with less serious injuries.

However, this continued killing on the Nuer is facilitated by Gambella national and Regional State Goverment  who keeps people who cooperate with terrorists in power.
