A member of the Nuer community sustained gunshot injuries last night in Makhot Kebele, Itang Special Woreda, in the Gambella region. The incident occurred in the evening when armed individuals, believed to be from the Anyuak ethnic group, opened fire on a group of men before fleeing.

The men were having dinner gathered around local dishes. This is not a surprise to see this happening. It is a new normal in Gambella for the Nuer to die. Nuerdeath in the region has now become a part of the patten.

The Nuer  community Members strongly believe that the President, Mrs Alemity is complicit with the crimes. That is why these Anyuaks keep attackingnnThe endless attack on the Nuer and None Anyuaks in Gambekka has heightened fear and uncertainty among civilians. Community members are calling for greater attention from authorities and steps to improve security and prevent further harm.
