s attack
Earlier today, a passenger bus traveling toward the Nuer Zone was ambushed in Abol Woreda, in what appears to be a tragic case of mistaken identity.
According to initial reports, the attack occurred roughly ten minutes before this publication.
Armed men from Anyuak forces opened fire on the bus, believing it was carrying members of the Nuer regional cabinet heading to the zone for a political campaign.
In the immediate aftermath, at least two people were confirmed dead, while four others sustained serious injuries. Sources on the ground indicate that the attackers misidentified the vehicle, assuming it was part of an official convoy.
In reality, the bus was transporting ordinary civilians, making the incident particularly alarming and raising serious concerns about the safety of public transportation in the area.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with passengers caught completely off guard by the sudden gunfire, as panic and confusion spread among those on board. Authorities are investigating the incident, and more details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
