euphoria and much love shown to the President from the Nuer community when she came to power, she lost the support in just under a year as she shown favourtism to her ethnic group than the whole public of Gambella

The killing of Nuer by criminal elements from the Anyuak community has been devastating. It reached a peak last week when two vehicles were ambushed, an ambulance and a Pick-Up Ute. The occupants in a Ute were police officers and a couple from the United States of America who came to visit family in Lare Woreda.

In that incident 4 people have lost their lives and another one is in a serious condition in Jima Hospital. The attackers were police officer from Abol Woreda. Before the vehicles felt under heavy gun fire, one of the survivor was an off duty police officer from Lare but works in Gambella.

He saw Bare Agua, the Head of Police Station in Abol District and asked him if everything was okay as they were in a forest about a kilometre away from Abol town. Bare replied everything was fine.

But all of a sudden the vehicle came under attack where one family a husband and a wife were killed leaving their two years old daughter crawling around their dead bodies. The attackers were determined to finish off everyone in the vehicles including the two years old.

Thankfully enough the survivors managed to protect themselves until help arrived. The survivor reported this incident to the police commissioner and the deputy commissioner which all did nothing.

If Mrs Alemitu is serious about the security of the region, then she should not be conductig meetings with members of the Parliament of Gambella. It is a waste of time and resources which could be directed for a better use. What she needs to do is to talk to the police department to do their job properly if they lack some sense of understanding in effective policing.

Mrs Alemitu knows too well who actually the killers are and who are hindering peace in the region but she chose not to focus on it and direcetd her time talking to Nuer Members of Parliament who got their mouth tight-lipped even when the people now getting killed are close family members of theirs.

These Members of Parliament she has meeting with have nothing to do with the ongoing killings from the Anyuak community. She needs to talk to the police commission and the Gambella Police Force in General as well as the judicary. But beccause she is a double standard, she wants to appear as a person of peace while in the shadow of clouds, she is complicit with the Nuer blood.

This is the smarter way of the Anyuak elite which Omot used effectively well killing Nuer and when Nuer try to think about protecting themselves, he calls the Nuer and offer quasi peace making them unable to effeively come up with plans to end this cycle of killing.

Omot has wasted huge amount of state resources on that strategy trading off  incentives for Nuer blood next to be spilled giving the Nuer woreda leaders some money for coming to meetings and go back home and communicate to their constitnuents that there is peace and so travel should resume.

Mrs President is 100 percent following Omot’s suit but Nuer must not go along with it. Every life matters. How would you effectively have a genuine conversation about peace with some one who releases murderers back to the community or someone who protects known killers especially when these killers involve in shooting patients in ambulances?

No Member of Parliament in their sound mind would sit down with this woman and talk about peace. What the Nuer Members of Parliamens in Gambella have to do is to write a joint letter to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia together with the Vice President that Gambella is a real apartheid of Ethiopia for the Nuer.

The Criminals are killing children in public transports and patients in ambulances and most of these crimes are committed by police officers some of which has ranks. Alemitu is shielding them. This is the best approach that needs to be taken to save lives not only Nuer ethnic group but even  Anyuak who may die in vengeance since Alemitu has made the state lawless.

Honourable Ashine Astine must be enanged with this to tell a true account of what is really happening in Gambella. He must engage with any MPs who needs peace in Gambella. This cancer must be eliminated from the top. This message will need to get to the Prime Minister’s Office one way or the other.

The violent regime of Thankuey and Omot which diened everything untill a lot of innocent Nuer and Anyuaks lost their lives must not be allowed to repeat itself.

Saving lives must be a priority and barbarism which persists must not override our core value of humanity.  The Nuer MPs must need to boycott meetings with any criminal members of Parliament who have a share in blood being spilled in Gambella.

Alemitu’s true colour has now emerged acting as a defence lawyer for Nuer killers when in fact she should be defending  the right to life of every Gambellian whether Nuer, Mejeng or Anyuak.

Leniency to Criminals and allowing the killing in ambulances would not give any benfit to herself or to the Anyuak community. Herself and the entirety of Anyuak community will benefit nothing instead it will bring pain and suffering to the people of Gambella.

The Nuer would need to resist this baby cuddling and soothing and be frank with the President that she needs to stand up to patient killers. What is she here to tell leaders from the Gambella Parliament  about?

Was she telling them to accept the killing as part of the Life and be happy? Would that be what she wants or is she playing with people mind trying to see what the Nuer think on this unimaginable deaths?

Whatever the case she may want, she just needs to be shun off and told to conduct meetings with the criminals in coffee shops where she meets them or if she is genuine but lacks the capacity to understand her role and the role of the police commission as well as the role of the judiciary which are all relevant for the meeting of today, then she needs to vacate the presidency.

The only time she would need to talk to these members of the Gambella Parliament and Woreda and Kebele leaders of Gambella is to pass laws and ask them to explain to their communities that whoever will do hate crime will serve a jail sentence for such and such amount of time.

That is the only reason all woreda leaders from Gambella should be called upon. Not to say  we need peace when in fact she she goes to lunch with the child killers.

The killing of Nuer went on for a long time under Omot and Thankuey. It must not go on for long this time round. It must not repeat itself.
