A lot of people in the regional capital of Gambella occupied the millennium hall for the New Year celebration. It was a good atmosphere for fans who queued for hours in the millennium hall to get seat. It was a positive atmosphere made possible by Gambella local musicians singing in Nuer and Anyuak.

Many people in Gambella would like to see the New Year bringing about the possible change upon their lives. Although employment opportunities is not as bad as it appear in most populous states of the region, one main concern which the people of Gambella would like to address is an awareness about the sexually transmitted diseases so that enough programs could be made available for local access.
