On May 24, 2025, a theft incident led to the collapse of the 230 kV high-voltage transmission line between Bedele and #Mettu, specifically damaging pole No. 120, located 69 kilometres from Bedele.

We are pleased to inform you that a new tower has been successfully installed, and power services have been partially restored. However, additional work is still required to complete the repairs. To facilitate this final phase, there will be a scheduled power outage on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM. During this time, Gambella University, Gambella Airport, Gambella City, and surrounding areas, including Gambella Woredas and Kebeles, will experience a power interruption.

We would also like to notify the customers in #Abobo District and Villages, Lare Woreda, Itang Special Woreda, and Kelem Wollega that they will also be affected by the power outages on this day.
