The football tournament in Gambella City has officially concluded, featuring 24 teams competing in the 01 kebele area.
Mayor Dr. Simon Mun attended the event and emphasized that when young people take the initiative to
organize such sports competitions, they can foster a generation that is both mentally and physically healthy. He assured attendees that the city administration is committed to supporting the development of the sports sector in Gambella.
James Kun, Head of the Gambella City Sports Office, highlighted the importance of these competitions in promoting unity and strengthening community bonds.
Tournament organizer Young Pom Dak noted that similar football events are held annually and provide numerous benefits to the community. He also mentioned that notable players, including Ramkel James from Ethiopia Coffee and Git Gatkuoth from Sidamo Coffee, were raised from the same tournament.
At the conclusion of the event, a trophy was awarded to the winning team, with local leaders and residents gathering to celebrate and support their teams.
