The Office of the Regional Governor of Gambella has officially announced the restoration of
standard government working hours, effective May 12, 2025, following a recent decline in regional temperatures. This decision marks a return to the regular schedule that had been temporarily altered over the past three months due to the warmer_climate conditions.
Ato Uthow_Ukoth, the Head of the Office of the Regional Chief Executive, had confirmed it to Gambella Vision that the modified working hours, which previously ran from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM, will now revert to the traditional hours of 7:00 PM to 12:30 PM. This change reflects the improved weather conditions in the region, allowing for a more conventional work routine.
In addition to the overall shift in working hours, Ato. Uthow Ukoth noted a revision to the afternoon shift schedule. The previous afternoon hours, which were set from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, will now take place from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. This adjustment is aimed at optimizing productivity and aligning with the needs of both employees and the community.
Ato. Uthow Ukoth emphasized the importance of punctuality and attendance, urging all government employees to be present at their workplaces during these designated hours. He underscored that adherence to this schedule is crucial for maintaining effective operations within the regional government and ensuring that public services continue to run smoothly.
The Office of the Regional Governor appreciates the cooperation of all staff members during this transition and looks forward to a productive work environment as normal working hours are reinstated.
